Interview with “The Gunslinger” Matt Asadar

Q: ”Tell us a bit about yourself, where you come from and what your motivations are?”

A: ”Well that's a tad bit of a loaded question. First off my name's Matt Asadar, some know me as "The Gunslinger." Where I come from, that can be a bit of a long story. Short answer is nowhere really. Been on my own since I was about 10. Had a nice family, a nice farm to live on. But one day all that was taken from me and I lost everyone I knew and loved. Since then I've just been wandering around. If I had to say one thing that motivates me it would be the memories of my family. The things they taught me. To work hard, do things right, don't look for the easy way out. I take those words with me into every match.”

Q: “The day you are referring to was as Austin Knight bought your farm and animals? Is that correct?”

A: “Actually no, I was referring to a back, when i was just a young boy. But since you bring up Austin. You can see where the things he has done, has really hit a sore spot with me. See, I've been through this before. Just has made those memories come flooding back in.”

Q: “That is sad to hear that such a tragedy hit a person not only once, but twice. But you fought out of it, you didn't give up and regained, what was once lost. Did becoming a professional Wrestler helped you in that quest and if yes, in which way?”

A: “It actually did. Around the time I found Empire City I was in a really low part. I had been traveling on my own for years. And honestly, It was getting tiresome. I had nothing, coming here, training, and then being accepted by the fans has given me that sense of family that I haven't had in a very long time.”

Q: ”So you become a professional wrestler to fill a void that you had inside of you. That is interesting, who was your trainer and how much did he or she influenced your wrestling style?”

A: ”Well I wouldn't say I did it to fill a void. It just sort of happened unexpectedly. It was a welcomed surprise though I'll tell ya that. Night was my trainer actually. And in terms of style it was sort of obvious. When you are almost 7ft and nearly 300lbs there ain't many options. I don't think yall would wanna see me try to do some flippy stuff out there. Also, living how I had, you learn how to use your size to your advantage.”

Q: ”That means you are using a classic Power-horse aka Big Man wrestling style?”

A: ”Yes ma'am, I got this size, I might as well use it.”

Q: ”What are your signature moves and/or your finishers?”

A: ”Well I tend to do a lot of stuff inside the ring. My finisher is called the Six Shooter, it's a style of brogue kick. Signatures, well I have something new I've been working on for Mr. Knight. But, I've been known to use the Big Splash, and a running knee I call the Recoil”

Q: ”What’s your entrance music? Why did you choose it?”

A: ”My entrance music is “Gunnin' For You” by Nick Nolan. I chose it because well if you listen to the words it's my message to anyone I'm facing. There will only be one left when it's all over, and I'm gunning for whoever is in front of me.”

Q: ”Who would you like to wrestle in the business? Why?”

A: ”Whew that's a tough one. Even though I haven't even been in a full year yet I have had the chance to face a good many of the guys on the roster. If I had to chose one that I haven't faced yet I would probably have to say 'The Big Shot" Benja Nirvana. I'd like to see how I'd match up with the only guy on the roster that is actually bigger than me. Plus, it would be an all out war for sure.”

Q: ”What is your most cherished moment of your career so far?”

A: ”When I won the PULSE Title at PULSE Invasion 2. Was the culmination of a lot of hard work, and proved to everyone that you can make it to the top in this business by doing things the right way.”

Q: “Which brings us back to the start of the interview, as Austin Knight has planned to take this last bit of what you could call “your” own property away from you. It is a difficult situation and I am sure the fans want to know the answer to this question. Are you ready? … Are you ready to beat Austin Knight, no matter what tricks he tries and be successful at retaining the Pulse Wrestling Championship?”

A: “Oh yes ma'am I'm ready. I've probably never been more ready for any match in my short career as I am for this one. He was able to weasel his way in and take my home, but he's gonna have to deal with me face to face when it comes to this here title. Whatever tricks he has, I'll be more than ready.”

Quick Q&A Round

Q: ”Favorite Male Wrestler”
A: ”This is tough, I enjoy watching quite a few. I'll go with "The Misfit" Jeffery Fireguard.”

A: ”Just want to say thank yall. For all the support, through the tough losses and the big wins. Yall don't know how much yall influence me when I'm out there to push myself that much more, to win for yall. Each of yall are a part of my family in my eyes.”
