Interview with "Kamikaze" Chiyoko
Q: “Tell us a bit about
yourself, where you come from and what your motivations are?”
A: “ There isn't much to
tell prior to me joining or rather being brought into one of
pro-wrestling federations. - I'm from Okinawa, Japan and as for
motivation it was - and still is - people I face on the ring”
Q: "Who brought you
into the business?"
A: “Firebird, Wildfire,
Bird of prey... Or as this one more commonly known - Lyra Phoenix. I
met her during training in gym months before my debut. And asked to
show me few moves.. Sufficient to say it was very painful learning
experience. But it was worth the effort~”
Q: "So Lyra Phoenix
was your first trainer, who else trained you?"
A: “To be exact Phoenix
was the one who finalized my training and conditioned me for my first
match. As for others - there been plenty of people who laid the
groundwork of what later become "Kamikaze Chiyoko" as I was
actively seeking out pro-wrestlers with different specializations and
learned from them. But if you insist ... Derrick Cult and Nanny
Gothly are first names that sprang in mind..”
Q: “What is your
wrestling style?”
A: “*looks away and
chuckles* wish i knew how to name it.. Ahem.. As of now my 'style' is
heavy focused on strikes. Delivering debilitating impacts to opponent
until their guard is down and finishing match in one precisely aimed
hit become my 'style' . And more conventional pro-style attacks
become secondary serving only to assist the main goal of delivering
one final strike.”
Q: “What are your
signature moves and/or your finishers?”
A: “The finisher was
(and still is) "Heel Kick" - reverse roundhouse kick to
head, executed while shifting forward, condensing momentum of whole
body into one precise shot aimed at opponent's head. And when the
target softened up enough to be unable dodge, this is the end of
match.”
“As for signature
move...”
"Its Lariat, "Torpedo
lariat" to be exact - and as with the finisher I throw my
weight behind this move making impact hard enough to topple any
opponent. Taxing as it is - the move knocks a lot out of me and
target - is still my favorite way to show whoever oppose me what are
they about to receive~”
Q: “What’s your
entrance music? Why did you choose it?”
A: “ I'll restrain from
naming the actual melody, enough to say thats a character music from
one of "Musou Orochi " video game. As to 'why'... When my
humors and the path I carved through the fed changed to darker one,
replacement to my original entrance theme was necessary and the new
tune fits perfectly!”
Q: "Many people saw
in you one of the brightest stars of your generation. Until the day
everything changed and you gave in to the darkness that was luring
inside of you. What brought out this inner darkness?"”
A: “*leans to table and
hides face in her hands chuckling before rising head and answering
with broad smile* At this juncture detour required to explain a few
things about me, my.. comrades and the federation I am pledged to, if
we have the time?”
Q: "We have the time
to do that. Please enlighten us."
A: “*leans back, turning
head away and glancing sideways explains* Women Pro-wrestling
Federation. WPWF. Sounds... usual, isn't it. Until you pay close
attention to two facts. Show is called "Asylum" and
wrestlers while called "Sirens" often referred to as
"Inmates" . Starting to get the picture”
Q: “That means you had
to let your inner darkness out to survive in the company?”
A: “Oh not in the least.
WPWF is a special place. And pro-wrestlers- Sirens - of Asylum are
special people. They are inmates who can let their temper run free
and rage go wild inside those walls. And that's what makes great
show.”
“But as Sirens clashed
they reached.. equilibrium, not friendship maybe, but certain
stalemate. “Previously dangerous even for skilled competitors zone
become pacified.. As much as skilled fighter can be 'peaceful' that
is.”
That took edge of things
and not all of us enjoyed it. It was time to redress the balance and
return Sirens to that state I saw them in when started out. Kamikaze
Chiyoko among few others saw to it. So walking the dark path was not
'to survive in company' It was 'to remind others they are here to
survive or die trying'”
Q: “Can you give us some
advice for new wrestlers who want to step into the Asylum?”
A: “There's
no ultimate recipe, for when you join the ranks of inmates of WPWF's
Asylum you'll be under pressure - and I saw many promising rookies
breaking and fleeing when faced with intensity of the show. So only
advice I can offer - make sure you're in top shape - both physically
and mentally, because Asylum will challenge you, pushing past your
limits.”
Quick Q&A Round:
Q: “Favorite Male
Wrestler?”
A: “Curt
Bombastic”
Q: “Favorite Female
Wrestler?”
A: “Mmm..
plenty options.. I'd say Honey Bluntz ”
Q: “Favorite Theme
Song?”
A: “Mhm..
"You got too far" .. Maybe - can't recall the title, it was
Jeffery Fireguard intro song from before he become"Misfit"
and was just "The Kid”
Q: “Favorite Finisher?”
A: “Piledriver
- in whole variety of it's variants. ”
Q: “Favorite Opponent?”
A: “cracks
knuckles, grinning Now
there's a choice to made.. I'll stick with one who quite literally
hammered what Kamikaze Chiyoko is now. Lyra Phoenix!”
Q: “Toughest Opponent?”
A: “Toughest..
Hardest to ki.. to beat.. There's one. Kurihara Rie.
“
Q: “Dream Match / Dream
Opponent?”
A: “frowns
and stays still for over a minute before answering
Um..
There still was few years or so ago, but.. I faced them all at least
once by now. Does it counts as dream fulfilled~?“
Q: “Any last words for
the readers?”
A: “Come
to the show - any that you can visit, take a good look at us all
doing our best (or worse) on ring . And if at some point instead of
thinking about action on ring "they are crazy" you start
thinking "WE are crazy" - start training, bring yourself to
right condition and join the ranks.. There's always use for fresh
meat.. coughs
Spot
for new faces ~ “
